OPEN POSITIONS: Part-time SUMMER LectuRERS (Non-Senate)

The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), invites applications for part-time Lecturer positions (Non Senate) with primary responsibility in teaching interdisciplinary courses in Asian American Studies for SUMMER SESSION 2008.  The six-week sessions include Summer Session A (first session, June 23-August 1, 2008) and Summer Session C (second session, August 4-September 12, 2008).

The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, offers a major, minor, a graduate concentration, and Master of Arts.

We are looking for applicants who can teach the following courses; however, we also welcome applicants who can offer other special topics courses that complement our curriculum:

  • Asian American History
  • Asian American Contemporary Issues
  • Asian American Literature and Culture
  • Asian American Women
  • Asian American Film
  • Asian American Food and Identity
  • Asian American Popular Culture
  • South Asian American Film/Popular Culture
  • Korean American Experience

Requirements

Applicants with a Ph.D. preferred. Applicants who are advanced to candidacy or who have a M.A., M.F.A., or equivalent will be considered.
