The Hammer Museum would like to invite students in your department to apply for the Student Educator program. This paid opportunity is open to undergraduates and graduates in all disciplines. 

Paid Student Educator Positions at the Hammer Museum

  • Gain in-depth access to Hammer exhibitions, programs, and resources
  • Lead tours of special exhibitions for audiences of diverse backgrounds and ages
  • Acquire experience in the museum field
  • Develop skills in object-based research

The Hammer Museum is looking for UCLA graduates and undergraduates from diverse disciplines to serve as Student Educators beginning in September 2017 and working through the academic year of 2017–2018. Hammer Student Educators serve as key representatives of the Hammer, connecting visitors to the exhibitions, collections, and mission of the Museum. They help visitors of all ages make authentic and personally relevant connections to art, one another, and the world through close looking, dialogue, inquiry, and reflection.

Program specifications:

  • Mandatory paid training during the summer (September 20-22 & September 26-27) and additional trainings on the first and third Friday per month during the academic year from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
  • 3 regular office hours per week and 3–6 tours per month
